Before autotune became all the rage, there were vocoders. What are vocoders? Vocoders generally take two inputs at the same time: vocals, and synth chords/notes. The resulting sound is very unique – the melody/harmony of the synth chord, combined with the timbre/sound of the voice. Be creative though: you don’t have to use vocals + synth for a vocoder – try out other combinations and see what sounds you can make!
